A suburban house. The kind of house with a wreath on the door. Inside — nothing on the walls except family photos that have all been edited so the kids smile harder. Outside — a porcelain doll, cracked across the face, lying on the dark hallway floor. Behind the wallpaper, a countdown.

This one is going to be quiet. The other two were loud. Mammon screamed. Azazel monologued. Lilith does not speak above a whisper. She does not need to.
